WHAT IS FUTSAL?
Futsal is a type of indoor soccer recognized by FIFA. It's played by two teams, each with five players on the court at a time. The game uses a smaller, heavier, and harder ball than regular soccer. Players can make unlimited substitutions throughout the game.

Futsal and soccer differ in playing surface, players per team, ball size, game duration, substitution rules, playing style, and goalkeeper restrictions.
Futsal is played indoors with five players, a smaller ball, and shorter halves, emphasizing quick, skillful plays.
Soccer on the other hand is played outdoors with eleven players, a regular ball, and longer halves, involving varied playing styles and more physicality.

Playing futsal has several benefits compared to traditional soccer:
You get more chances to touch the ball than in outdoor soccer.
There are more opportunities for every player to score.
Players develop a better overall understanding of the game, as they don't just stick to one position.
Futsal simplifies rules like 'off-sides' that can make it easier for young players to join in.

Participants can wear the following:
(1) shin guards for protection(optional)(2) Long socks to cover the shin guards(optional)
(3) any indoor athletic shoes
While not mandatory, Futsal shoes provide better traction and ball grip.

OUR STORY
Hi, I'm Cristiano Dias, the coach at Base Futsal Academy. I played professional soccer for 15 years, part of it in Brazil but mostly in the USA where I arrived in 2007.
Everything began when I was a child playing futsal in high school and a small futsal academy in my hometown. This formed a strong Base for my professional soccer career, improving my skills and enhancing my ability to make better and quicker decisions.
I started BASE FUTSAL to give kids the opportunity, values, and discipline that made a big difference in my life, and to keep our youth active in sports.
